Sophie Rain has spoken out against a controversial scene featuring Sydney Sweeney in Euphoria — saying it sends the wrong message about content creators.
The backlash comes after Sweeney’s character, Cassie, went viral for a provocative storyline involving a fictional subscription-style platform. In the scene, Cassie is shown posing in explicit and unusual outfits, including dressing as a dog and a baby, sparking debate across social media.
Speaking about the role, Sweeney previously described Cassie as “a crazy character” who will “do anything and at all costs to be famous,” explaining that the storyline explores extreme and unpredictable choices.
However, Rain — who works full-time on OnlyFans — criticised how the platform and its creators were portrayed.
“I do love Sydney Sweeney,” Rain said, “but I believe the depiction… labeling OnlyFans as this easy money gateway is damaging for girls.”
She went on to explain that the reality of the platform is very different from what’s shown on screen. According to Rain, only a small percentage of creators earn significant money, with many making just a few hundred dollars a month.
Rain also took issue with some of the costumes used in the scene, particularly the baby outfit, arguing it misrepresents creators and feeds into harmful stereotypes.
“I am very conservative on my OnlyFans account,” she added. “Depicting us as catering to certain audiences… is damaging to our community.”
The scene has also been defended by Sam Levinson, the show’s creator, who said the intention was to highlight the absurdity of the situation rather than glorify it. He explained that elements of humour and discomfort were deliberately included to break the illusion of the character’s fantasy.
The moment has since sparked a wider conversation online about how platforms like OnlyFans are portrayed in mainstream media — and whether those depictions reflect reality.
