Woody is getting a very relatable upgrade in Toy Story 5 — and fans are already loving it.
During its presentation at CinemaCon 2026, Disney revealed that the iconic cowboy toy will be showing some very human signs of aging in the upcoming sequel.
While the first trailer had already hinted at a noticeable bald spot, new details confirm Woody will also be rocking a beer belly — a combination that many viewers are joking feels “a little too real,” especially for anyone over 30.
The character, once again voiced by Tom Hanks, remains at the heart of the franchise alongside Buzz Lightyear, voiced by Tim Allen.
The returning cast also includes fan favourites such as Jessie, Rex, Hamm, and Slinky Dog, while new additions are set to bring fresh energy to the story. Among them is Greta Lee, who voices a new villain named Lilypad — a tablet device linked to a storyline involving modern-day screen addiction. Conan O’Brien will also join the cast as a new character named Smarty Pants.
The plot is expected to explore themes of technology and changing habits, with reports suggesting Bonnie becomes hooked on scrolling apps — a sharp, modern twist for the beloved franchise.
Pixar has confirmed that Toy Story 5 is set to hit cinemas on June 19, continuing one of the most successful animated series of all time.
Fans have already taken to social media to react to Woody’s updated look, with many saying the aging details make the character feel more relatable than ever — even if it hits a little close to home.
