Britpop fans are celebrating after Louise Wener and Andy Maclure finally tied the knot – more than 30 years after getting engaged.
The couple, best known as members of Sleeper, said “I do” in Brighton following a relationship that dates back to the height of the Britpop era.
A love story decades in the making
Louise and Andy first got together in the mid-1990s while working on the band’s hit album The It Girl. Since then, they’ve built a life together and share two children.
Despite being engaged for three decades, the pair only now decided to make things official – and even joked about the long wait.
Sharing photos from the big day on social media, they wrote:
“30 years. You don’t want to rush into these things.”

A relaxed and stylish wedding
The wedding took place in Brighton, with the couple seen walking hand-in-hand through confetti after the ceremony.
Louise opted against a traditional bridal look, instead wearing a fitted animal-print dress with cream ankle boots. Andy kept things relaxed but smart in a blazer, shirt, jeans and trainers.
They also posed for photos on Brighton beach, with the sea providing a laid-back backdrop to the celebration.
Fans react
Fans quickly flooded social media with messages of congratulations.
One wrote: “Oh wow! Brilliant! Loads of love to you both.”
Another said: “Congratulations!! This is such an adorable post.”
A third added: “Such wonderful photos – huge congratulations.”
From bandmates to life partners
Louise and Andy were part of Sleeper’s original line-up alongside guitarist Jon Stewart and bassist Diid Osman.
Before her relationship with Andy, Louise had dated Damon Albarn, but later found lasting love with her bandmate.
The band went on to become one of the defining acts of the Britpop era, scoring multiple UK Top 40 hits and releasing several successful albums before splitting in 1998.
They later reunited in 2017, bringing their music back to fans across the UK.
A perfect ending
After decades together, their wedding marks a special moment in a relationship that has stood the test of time.
And judging by the reaction from fans, it’s a Britpop love story people are more than happy to celebrate.
