A Scottish woman believed to have the largest breasts in the UK has revealed she was once told to leave public places unless she covered up — all because of a rare medical condition she has no control over.
Summer Robert, 28, suffers from macromastia, a condition that causes excessive and continuous breast tissue growth. Standing at just 4ft 11in, her chest alone weighs more than four stone (around 25kg), making everyday life physically and emotionally challenging.

Her condition first became noticeable when she was just a teenager. Despite repeatedly seeking medical help from the age of 14, Summer says her concerns were dismissed as normal puberty. At one point, her chest grew an astonishing 11 bra sizes within a single year.
“I kept going to the doctors, but they just told me to lose weight,” she explained. “No one told me it was a condition.”

It wasn’t until years later that she was finally diagnosed with macromastia — a rare disorder with only a few hundred documented cases worldwide. The condition can be linked to hormonal changes, genetics, or autoimmune issues, and often leads to chronic pain, mobility issues, and difficulty finding suitable clothing.
But beyond the physical toll, Summer says the social impact has been just as difficult.
She recalls being confronted while visiting a tourist attraction on a hot day, where staff told her she needed to buy something to cover herself up or leave entirely after complaints from other visitors.

“They said I had to go and get a cardigan or leave,” she said. “It was boiling hot, so I just left.”
Similar experiences followed her into the workplace. While working as a barmaid, she says she faced constant harassment, inappropriate comments, and even had drinks thrown at her by customers.
“The first thing they said was about my chest,” she recalled of one incident. “I ended up in tears.”
Despite years of unwanted attention and insecurity, Summer has since turned her situation into something more positive. Embracing her body, she now uses social media and subscription platforms to connect with followers who support her.

“I used to hate my body, but now I love it,” she said. “I’m confident in my own skin.”
Although breast reduction surgery has been discussed, doctors have warned that the tissue could grow back over time. For now, Summer says she would only consider surgery if the condition becomes unbearable.
Macromastia can cause severe back pain, skin infections, and long-term discomfort, but for Summer, learning to accept her body has been life-changing.
What was once a source of distress has now become something she owns — on her own terms.
