A food reviewer has gone viral after sharing his experience trying the now-famous food vans at The Farmer’s Dog – the countryside pub owned by Jeremy Clarkson.
Danny Malin, known for his brutally honest reviews on YouTube, made the trip to the Cotswolds hotspot to see if the hype was justified. What he found left him seriously impressed.
Long queues – but worth the wait
Arriving at the busy site, Danny was met with sizeable queues for the food vans, which sit alongside the pub. The vans – named The Farmer’s Dough and The Farmer’s Puppy – serve up a mix of pizzas, burgers and loaded sides.
Not holding back, he ordered a full spread:
- Big View burger
- Loaded fries
- Farmhouse pizza
- Wild garlic bread
Setting up his now-famous portable table outside, Danny tucked in under the sunshine with a full view of the countryside setting.
“Absolutely gorgeous” food
Starting with the garlic bread, Danny immediately praised the quality, calling the cheese “absolutely gorgeous” and highlighting the thick, soft base with a doughy crust.
Moving onto the farmhouse pizza, topped with ham and mushroom, he said the sauce had a “beautiful sweetness” with just the right amount of tang. He also noted the generous toppings, describing the flavour as something he “couldn’t fault”.
The loaded fries didn’t disappoint either. Covered in garlic mayo and melted cheese, Danny said there was “plenty of mayo” and described the combination as “rich and creamy”.
The burger that sealed it
The highlight, however, was the £14 Big View burger.
Loaded with baconnaise, cheddar, lettuce, pickles and beer-soaked onions, the burger impressed from the first bite. Danny described the beef as “juicy” and “gorgeous”, with the onions adding a sharp kick that balanced perfectly with the rest of the ingredients.
According to him, the flavours were “bob on”.
Price vs experience
The full meal came to £48.50, with the loaded fries alone priced at £9.50 – something Danny admitted might seem steep at first.
But he was quick to defend it.
He pointed out that the portion sizes, quality of ingredients and overall experience made it worthwhile, especially given the location and atmosphere.
Final verdict
Taking in the surroundings, Danny summed up the visit as more than just a meal.
He described it as a full day-out experience, adding that sitting there with good food and a drink in hand would be “living the dream”.
His final score?
A perfect 10 out of 10.
For a venue that’s already pulled in huge attention thanks to Clarkson’s name, it seems the food is more than capable of backing up the hype.
